You Are Not Your Own

Staying afloat can be difficult at times especially if you are weighed down by worry. Keeping a positive attitude in spite of all you see happening around you can feel like a pretty tall order. The good news however is that it is during these times that you also have the most growth. In order for this concept to really sink in we need to re evaluate everything we have learned until this point and turn it upside down, unlearning is a great challenge. In a time where the world is full of uncertainty, whether it be job loss, loss of health, or even trying to think of a goal/ dream to move toward. We continue to work toward a goal in very rough waters. The world is continually changing or so we think. I look a human behavior and realize that sadly the human condition is still dealing with things much as they did thousands of years ago. Making poor decisions basically because all roads end at themselves with complete disregard for humanity. We live in a time where choice, rights and freedoms have taken center stage without any thought for their neighbor. A time where death tolls don’t seem to matter (cause its only 2% right)?! The warning shot has gone off 2 Timothy 3:2 ” People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred”. I find it a little disheartening when I see people holding up signs, people who claim they are care givers, and yet want their claim to rights and freedoms. This same people who have the skills to roll up their sleeves and help take care of the ill choose to hold up a sign. A sign that tells me your more important… wow!! I’m not suggesting that rights and freedoms should not be cared for or fought for. I am suggesting that priorities be re assessed. So during a pandemic I would hope people would help one another and not make yourself center stage because quite frankly none of us are that important. Do what is right in God’s eyes pray for wisdom step over fear, and stop with the excuses. If you don’t choose to be a part of the solution then at least have the grace to stop fanning the fire. 1 John 4:4 ” But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” 1 Corinthians 6:19 ” Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own.” So you see there in no space for me, myself, and I. There is no me and you. Until the world comes to we and us we aren’t going to do very well are we? Have a blessed day…..refuse to sink
